The Account Executive works within established Sales Department guidelines to increase sales volume with assigned accounts, aggressively seeks new customers for both TV and eMedia business, executes plans and strategies set forth by sales management, maintains awareness of the competition, and maintains visibility in the community. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
• Establishes credible relationships with local business community.
• Makes sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
• Maintains assigned accounts and develops new accounts.
• Prepares and delivers sales presentations to clients.
• Explains to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services in the most effective way possible.
• Provides clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.

Local Sales Manager-KREX

The Sales Manager is responsible for leading the day to day operations of the Sales department, including development of new business and achievement of revenue goals.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provides leadership for the broadcast/web sales teams, to include performance evaluations.
• Makes decisions regarding hiring, evaluation, promotion and termination of employees.

Master Control Operator-KREX-P/T

The Master Control Operator is responsible for the overall on-air look of the television station through airing programming and scheduled station breaks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Updates and maintains signal control systems. 
• Maintains programming logs as required by station management.
• Segments content and clips to the server and then trims and modifies it.
• Prints traffic logs and appends logs to the data management system.
• Monitors strength, clarity and reliability of incoming and outgoing signals and adjusts equipment as necessary to maintain quality broadcasts.
• Selects sources from which programming will be received, or through which programming will be transmitted.
• Reports equipment problems and ensures that repairs are made, and makes emergency repairs to equipment when necessary and possible.
• Ensures the station's compliance with Emergency Alert System requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Skills:
• Technical degree in Digital Electronics, Broadcasting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
• Fluency in English.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Minimum three years' experience with digital electronics systems in a television broadcasting environment. 
• Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment.
• Strong PC/MS Office experience.

News Anchor/Reporter/Producer-KFQX

Position Summary:

We are looking for an Evening Anchor/Reporter to help launch the first ever local newscast to air exclusively on KFXQ Fox 4 in Grand Junction, Colorado. The perfect candidate will have prior on-air experience and know how to shoot, edit, and produce. This position will require great decision making skills, some web expertise, and superior AP Style writing skills.

The News Anchor will produce and anchor a half hour newscast. This person will serve as a primary presenter of news stories and other content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers, as well as do some reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Presents news stories and other content for all platforms.
  • Ensures that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
  • Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner.
  • Produces newscasts and communicates clear direction with team members.
  • Assists in writing, copy editing, researching and coordinating news programming and other content.
  • Acts as a field reporter as assigned.
  • Conducts interviews with news personnel and others.
  • Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsrooms situations as required.
  • Participates in promotional activities including public appearances.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.

Production Assistant-P/T KREX

KREX-TV in Grand Junction, Colorado is looking for a part time production assistant. Hours may be early morning or afternoon/evening, including weekends, so the right candidate will be extremely reliable and punctual. Duties include but are not limited to:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Running cameras and handling all in-studio coordination for our newscasts
  • Running the audio/video side of newscasts when not running cameras          
  • Editing video and assisting the newsroom in creation of content
  • Train on operating video switching and graphics production equipment to serve as backup
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Meteorologist forecasts weather conditions and produces and anchors weather reports for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers.

  • Minimum one to two years' experience in weather reporting or anchoring.
  • Superior on-air presence.
  • Experience guiding, directing and motivating others.
