Andy currently serves as the Morning/Noon Meteorologist. He joined the NewsChannel 5 Weather Team in October 2015 as the Weekend Meteorologist/Reporter. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Meteorology with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma in May 2015. A native of Dallas, Texas, Andy is thrilled to come to Colorado to seek new adventures and forecast the dynamic Western Slope weather. He was only on air with the station a couple weeks and about to deliver a live weather broadcast when a hailstorm rolled through. Andy is enthusiastic about challenging his forecast skills and strives to keep viewers safe by providing accurate forecasts for the Western Slope during active weather. He also endeavors to educate and inform viewers on intriguing news stories.
Prior to becoming a part of the NewsChannel 5 team, Andy interned at Time Warner Cable News in Austin, TX in summer 2014 and at KOCO in Oklahoma City in spring 2015. He then served as the temporary Meteorologist at KVII in Amarillo, TX in June 2015. He believes the internships and part-time position have set a strong foundation for his broadcast and forecast skills and strives to expand them even more while covering Western Slope news and weather.
Andy is a big college football fan and will especially follow the Oklahoma Sooners every weekend in the fall. When not at work, he looks forward to exploring all the outdoor activities the Western Slope has to offer.
