GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- - The 7th Annual Grand Valley Beer Festival was held Friday night at Colorado Mesa University, and featured more than 90 different craft beers from the area as well as around the country.
The festival is held every year as a way to bring in funding to support the Maverick Clubs Student Athlete Scholarship Fund.
In previous years the event raised upwards of $25,000, money those with CMU say is used to bring more athletes to the college.
"We fund-raise and supplement our scholarship budget, so we can spend more and put more people through school" said Kris Mort with CMU.
Other fundraisers that benefit the scholarship fund include a wine festival, as well as a hoe-down are also held.
