GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- - Edgewater Brewery hosted the 5th Annual Western Colorado Craft Beer Celebration on Saturday, March 18th. This event kicks off the Colorado Craft Beer Week, which is from March 18th to the 25th.
The event had eleven different Western Slope breweries in attendance. 700 tickets were available for this years celebration. They cost $20 including a souvenir glass and unlimited samples of beer. And for Tosha Dixon, one of the organizers of the event, the local breweries are an important aspect of this day. "I think it's so cool because it's our community supporting our community. This side of Colorado, and all of Colorado, is so good at supporting local business and I think that's what really matters. And, you know, all the proceeds go to the Home Brewers Club, which is fantastic," says Dixon.
The celebration is presented by The Guild, a non-profit trade association that promotes the craft beer industry in Colorado. There will be other events going on across the state to celebrate Colorado Craft Beer Week.
There are plans to have another celebration like this next year.
