Accused Bike Thief Steals Bike Bait

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- - Authorities with the Grand Junction Police Department are searching for a man, they say stole a bait bike they had planted.

According to the GJPD, detectives got word Monday morning that a bike used as a "bait bike" for the department had been stolen.

They tracked the bike to an address in the 1300 block of Elm Avenue.

After several attempts to contact the occupants of the home, a number of law enforcement agencies executed a search of the house, but could not find the suspect.

The accused has been identified as Robert Dattage, 44, and he is wanted on charges of felony theft, criminal mischief, and possession of burglary tools.
