California Man Arrested Outside of Mack

The man was suspected of carrying methamphetamine

MACK, Colo. - Jerald Miller, 41, of  Sun City, CA was arrested after the Mesa County Sheriff's Office says he made an abrupt exit off of I-70 near Mack, CO.

A drug-sniffing dog with the Mesa County Drug Task Force indicated there were drugs around the vehicle.

Authorities found marijuana and smoking paraphernalia inside the vehicle, but a backpack authorities believe belongs to Miller was found on the off-ramp.

According to the Mesa County Sheriff's Office, 13 individually sealed bags contained about 1 ounce of suspected methamphetamine.

Miller is charged with a number of felonies including distribution of methamphetamine as authorites say the amount is "far more than personal use."

Miller is held in the Mesa County Detention Center on $20,000 bond.
