Charges Filed in Fiery Crash From June

Update on the Two Car Collision from the Summer

MESA COUNTY, Colo. - Back in June, News Channel Five reported on a fiery crash on I-70 that sent three people to the hospital. One of the drivers has appeared in court, where charges were formally filed.

48-year-old James Moore of Parachute is being charged with vehicular assault - reckless - which is a class 5 felony, child abuse, which is a class 2 misdemeanor and reckless driving.

These charges are a result of a head on collision on I-70, where Moore was in a car that was apparently driving westbound in the eastbound lanes. Moore's car hit another vehicle that was being driven by a 22-year-old woman. The woman had serious injuries, as well as Moore. Moore had to be extricated from his car.

Moore's car caught fire, and the flames spread farther down eastbound I-70.

Moore will be back in court on November 30.
