CMU Hosts Free Lunch for All Military Members

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The Veterans Day honors continued at Colorado Mesa University as they held a lunch honoring those who have served for our country.

Friday afternoon at the CMU dining hall, Sodexo Campus Services offered free lunch to retired and active duty military members.

Those with Sodexo said they've been hosting this event since the 80's, and they don't plan on stopping anytime soon.

"It shows appreciation for service men and women. That's never wasted. I think it's always, particularly in schools and government institutions, really important," said Dick Bell, Veteran and CMU Professor.

People at CMU said this event is one that they look forward to every year -- but the celebrations aren't over just yet.

On Saturday for Veterans Day, the Starbucks located on CMU's campus will also be giving out free coffee to veterans and military members.

They said these small gestures are just a way for them to show their appreciation to our service men for all that they do.
