GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.-We have new information concerning Stephanie Hauck, the 14-year-old who is charged with manslaughter, and assault in the second degree with a deadly weapon causing injury.
Hauck's charges are in relation to the death of 61-year-old Linda Smith.
According to the court affidavit that was recently released, the event occurred at the 500 block of 29 1/2 Road.
When officials arrived on scene, they discovered smith dead on the floor, cold to the touch.
It is revealed that Hauck was the foster daughter of Smith.
Smith was found to have puncture wounds on her face, back and torso, with the patterns matching a cooking 2 prong fork found in the kitchen sink.
According to the coroner, the puncture wounds neither caused subdural hematomas or fractures.
The cause of death, according to the coroner, was that the attack on Smith caused her to have a sudden death due to her medical problems, which were heart and lung disease.
The coroner ruled the manner of death to be homicide, but the cause of death is still under medical investigation.
