Golf Tournament Benefits Children

14th Annual Jolly Construction Golf Tournament

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.- - The 14th Annual Jolly Construction Golf Tournament benefiting Riverside Educational Center (REC) is hosted by the Redlands Mesa Golf Course on Sunday, April 23.

REC is a program dedicated to providing children with after-school academic and enrichment activities. The goal is academic success, but the students are also exposed to experiences beyond the classroom. "They get all these other opportunities for outside experiences that they wouldn't get otherwise. And so it opens up their view of the world and where they can fit," says Joy Hudak from the Riverside Educational Center.

Students were at the golf tournament acting as caddies to help raise more money for REC. "Since I started REC I have improved so much, and it's really fun," says Abel Garcia, a student caddy at the event.
