Grand Junction High School Goes on Lockdown

Lockdown was in place for about an hour.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Grand Junction High School goes on lock down for about an hour this afternoon out of what authorities call "an abundance of caution."

Law enforcement officials say a juvenile male was stabbed in the shoulder near the alley-way between the art center and GJHS,  and he is not currently sustaining any life threatening injuries.

The lockdown was initiated at 2:10 in the afternoon, and at 2:45 p.m. authorities told us there were no arrests and no outstanding threats to the community at 3:12 p.m. the lock down was lifted and parents were able to pickup their children.

There is currently an investigation open into the stabbing but again- this was an incident around Grand Junction High School, not involving the high school.
