Hilltop Celebrates Veterans' Day with Poems & Prayers

People of all Ages Attended the Ceremony to Pay Respect to our Veterans

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The support of the Grand Valley shows for its veterans as Veterans' Day nears.

Around here, you might as well call it "Veterans' Week" because of all the events leading up to Saturday, and today's no exception as Hilltop holds a celebration for those who have served.

Many of the residents at Hilltop are military veterans and received special recognition during the ceremony.

Special honors were given to many different veterans who served in a multitude of different branches during their service.

People of all ages attended the ceremony to pay respect to our veterans.

"Honor, truth, and justice. I stand for freedom, I am confident, I am arrogant, I am proud. When I'm flown with my fellow banners, my head is a little higher, my colors a little true", says Richard Johnson, a Specialist in the Colorado Army National Guard.

Poems and prayers were delivered at the ceremony, all in honor of our country. Local veterans outside of the Veterans' Day honors continued at Colorado Mesa University, as they hold a lunch honoring those who have served our country.
