Historical Markers Commemorating Downtown Buildings

Schiesswohl Building Gets First Plaque

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.

Community members gathered together Wednesday morning to unveil the first of 33 new plaques, commemorating downtown Grand Junction's historical buildings.

The building being recognized first is called the Schiesswohl building at 560 Colorado Avenue, which eventually would be Grand Junction's very first gas station.

The next plaque is still in planning, but the project leaders expect to have it up within the next month.
