GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - A Colorado man is facing several felony charges after being accused of a weekend road rage incident in Mesa County.
Shortly before 9 p.m. on Sunday, deputies were called to the area of TZ Trail and B Road by motorists who said they were being chased by men on motorcycles.
Investigators say they think the riders perceived the car as cutting them off and began hitting the vehicle with chains, shattering a window.
The motorists also reported hearing possible gun shots as they fled.
Following several interviews with the parties involved, 37-year-old Rodney Ball of Austin was arrested.
Ball faces two counts of criminal attempt of assault in the first degree, two counts of menacing, and one count of criminal attempt of illegal discharge of a firearm.
Authorities say this incident also fits the definition of 'crime of violence' and is subject to a sentence enhancement.
