GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - If you've walked the streets of downtown Grand Junction, you may have noticed a new venue in town.
The new event space is called Pineapple Place and there's a reason for the unique name.
Those with the company said the fruit has a long history behind it, but it's a universal symbol for welcome and hospitality.
The space has been restored to its original 1890's interior, with exposed brick walls, tile ceilings and hardwood floors.
The event manager said it not only brings a fresh new vibe to the downtown area, but it will also help boost our local economy.
"You get big groups in such as weddings, things like that. It can really drive to get people out to see what Main St. is all about," said Shelley Warsaw, Event Manager at Pineapple Place.
Those with Pineapple Place are now taking reservations for events, pop up shops, parties and receptions. They're also currently looking for vendors to collaborate with.
