PALISADE, Colo. - Palisade wraps up the 14th annual Olde Fashioned Christmas Saturday with creative creations of the culinary kind– featuring a gingerbread house contest and soup competition.
The gingerbread house creations were on display for all to say in the Community Center.
News Channel 5's Chelsea Helms was one of the judges, looking for overall look, construction and creativity.
Organizers say, they're getting more entries for the contest every year.
“It was such a part of tradition, making gingerbread houses, and I think it’s coming back." Dixie Burmeister, an organizer for the event, said, " We’re seeing more and more people, all ages. This is what’s fun. We have girls and boys, men and women, and some of the imaginative entries that they’ve had.”
The festival also included a craft fair and Christmas gifts for sale.
