Physical Altercation Leads to a Stabbing in Mesa County

MESA COUNTY, Colo. - One man is behind bars after he allegedly stabbed a man and fled the scene. 

According to the Grand Junction Police Department just before 7:30 Monday night they received a call that a man had been stabbed in the area of the Monument Ridge Town Bomes off of B 1/2 Road.

On scene officers said they found a victim with minor puncture wounds to the arm, but say the man believed to be responsible ran away.

After searching the surrounding area for just over 20 minutes, law enforcement found Jay Luther, 39, hiding in the field west of the town homes. 

He has been taken into custody and charged with a number of felonies including attempted homicide, and second degree assault.
