The ice storm really did a number on a normal day activities for the majority of us in the Grand Valley. Congratulations if you made it to work on time or had an event take place because many things came to a halt.
Icy conditions caused many cancelations and left many stranded who were out in the elements.
“We’ve been stuck here since yesterday morning due to the ice and snow,” said one truck driver who was stuck at the local Pilot Travel Center for more than 24 hours.
Around the rest of the town, multiple other events were canceled such as the Veteran Memorial’s Service held at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery. That has been rescheduled for January 23, at 1 pm.
The Lion’s Club was set to announce this years beneficiaries for their $150,000 dollars in grant money at the Two Rivers Convention Center, but road conditions caused that to be canceled. The reschedule date hasn’t been set at the moment.
Many school delays and early releases of businesses took place as well as the ice storm reigned havoc on the community and had many looking forward to getting back on the road.
