GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Third graders at Lincoln Orchard Mesa Elementary received a special surprise Tuesday morning.
The downtown Rotarians coordinated with all Rotary Clubs in the Grand Valley to donate just under 2,000 dictionaries.
This is the 14th year they have partnered for this event. The children's dictionaries will be donated to all 3rd grade students in School District 51 throughout the week.
"I have a dictionary around the house that's probably been around for 30 or 40 years. It's not nearly as nice as what these are, but they're just handy to have. It's good to be able to reach them and know where you have one when you need it," said Rodney Christ, Member of the Downtown Rotary Club.
Those with the club said public education has always been a main priority for them. They said this is just another way to make sure our kids living in Mesa County are well educated.
