GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - It's never too early to start learning how to manage your money -- at least that's the lesson teens at Grand Junction High School are teaching local elementary students.
Grand Junction High School's High School of Business Course, teaches students the importance of wealth management.
Students taking the class came together and created a plan in order to teach younger generations how to save their money.
Organizers said it's never too early to start financial planning, but what caught them by surprise was how many of these kids were already headed in the right direction.
"A lot of them have some things that they're trying to save up for. College and things like that. It's also good for them see some high school students and see what they can do in the future," said Katy Burkhart, 4th Grade Teacher at Wingate Elementary.
GJHS students talked to the 4th graders about making smart goals. The kids continuously earned money throughout the presentation, which they were able to either save or spend on Jolly Ranchers.
The High School Business course was launched last year, yet those involved in the program said it's already been a huge success.
