GRAND JUCNTION, CO - What better way to see the Grand Valley than to ride through it.
Community Hospital brought together the 29th Annual Tour of the Valley Bike Ride once more.
The tour brought in 250 riders not for a race but for the simple concept of enjoyment and site seeing, because the tour is open to everyone there were different routes available a 30, 55, 75 and 100 mile track.
Although the 55 plus mile routes may be more work they cover Fruita, the National Monument, the Grand Mesa and Palisade.
Organizers say all proceeds made support a number of cycling and wellness activities.
"It's important to note that all of the proceeds stay local. We've supported CMU cycling and COPMOBA, which is an organization locally here that maintains trails so its a really great local event," said Karen Martsolf, Communication Director Community Hospital.
Participants enjoy the tour because of its leisure like feel, "We did the 30 its pretty mellow it's only a 400ft of elevation gain, we did it in three hours so 10 mile an average, no challenge no big hills to climb, you have to do the 50 go up the Monument to climb big hills, " said Denny Warren, cyclist.
All riders received a free t-shirt upon registration and after they were able to relax with a complimentary massage.
Riders were also invited to join in on a BBQ with beverages and live music provided.
