Two Women Accused in Toddler Death Learn Their Fate

Two Mesa County women learned their fate on Thursday, for their involvement in the death of a young girl. 29-year-old Shanna Gossett and 32-year-old Rebekah Wallin each received 48 years in prison with five years mandatory parole, to be served consecutively.

They were charged with murder in the first degree, second degree kidnapping, and false imprisonment for the death of 3-year-old Bethanie Johnson. 

Authorities said Gossett was the legal guardian to Johnson who was found not breathing at her home the Mesa County Coroner said Johnson's death was due to multiple blunt-force injuries.
