Upcoming Fundraiser to Benefit Homeless Pets

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Roice-Hurst Humane Society will be hosting their 5th Annual Party for Paws Gala this Friday, August 11th, starting at 6 PM, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Grand Junction.

As this year's theme for the gala is "Paws-abilities," Roice-Hurst will be celebrating the accomplishments of local service dogs and how the rescued become the rescuers.

The gala includes cocktails, dinner, music, the best animal-themed silent auction in town, and a program featuring the Mesa County Search and Rescue K-9's and Tilly the Mesa County Justice Center Facility dog.

According to Roice-Hurst administrators, this is the biggest fundraiser for the humane society, as more than 50% of the ticket sales go right into their general fund.

Anna Stout, Executive Director of Roice-Hurst Humane Society, explained, "it's a really critical part of our fundraising plan to make sure that we're able to continue throughout the year providing shelter temporarily for animals, and providing them the services that they need to become adopted and find their forever homes."

If you would like to attend the event, tickets are $65 and still available through the Roice-Hurst Humane Society website, rhhumanesociety.org, or at the humane society itself at 362 28 Road in Grand Junction.
