Woman Charged in Suspected Stabbing

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Two people were brought into custody in a suspected stabbing, with one charged in relation to the incident.

Just after 12:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon, the Grand Junction Police Department responded to the area just south of 30 Road and the Interstate 70 Business Loop for reports of an assault in progress.

46-year-old Gena Anderson has been charged with domestic violence and second-degree assault with a deadly weapon. Police say 4'11" 120-pound Anderson stabbed a 6'2" 220-pound man. Both were transported to St. Mary's to be treated with wounds consistent with stab wounds. Both were released and both taken into custody to the Mesa County Jail.

Witnesses told officers on scene that Anderson had chased the man down 30 Road where they say she attacked him and both were involved in the fight.

According to the arrest affidavit, a bystander pulled a gun on the two and told them to separate to stop the altercation.

The victim was taken into custody on outstanding warrants.
