Young Teen Wounded In Accidental Shooting

Police Respond To Early Morning Incident

Grand Junction, CO - Grand Junction Police and emergency personnel were sent to a home in the 2800 block of Hill Avenue shortly after 2:30 Monday morning in response to a shooting incident.

Upon arrival, they found a 14-year-old boy with what police describe as an "accidental self-inflicted gunshot wound to the abdomen".

The boy was transported to the hospital with what police describe as life-threatening injuries.

The Grand Junction Police Department says there is an active investigation underway.
