GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - The month of September has been declared as Workforce Development Month by Governor Hickenlooper, and Mesa County's Workforce Center is arranging special events for the area.
According to officials, this annual series of events aims to bring awareness to all of those in need of jobs, and those in need of additional employees.
This is a statewide event and according to Governor Hickenlooper, this month is focusing on creating a stronger and more competitive Colorado.
"We how that it really brings recognition to all of the ways that we can serve this community, not just the job seeker, not just the unemployed, but the employed looking for better opportunities to advance their own careers," says the business services manager of the Mesa County Workforce Center, Suzie Miller.
The Mesa County Workforce Center will be hosting a customer appreciation day on September 15th. A job Fair boot camp on the 18th, to prepare job seekers for the interview process.
The month will wrap up with a job fair on September 22nd, and officials expect to see over 30 employers in attendance.
