The Colorado Mesa football team begins their 2017 season 2-0 after a 24-10 win at Chadron State Saturday afternoon.
An interception return for a touchdown by George Manning gave the Mavericks an early lead. CMU would go up 14-0 after David Tann's first rushing touchdown of the season, a 15-yard run. The Mavericks take a 21-point lead after Eystin Salums' third rushing touchdown of the season. A Ryan Sheehan field goal put CMU up 24-7, and they would win by a 24-10 final.
The Mavericks will attempt to win their first three games of the year when they host Colorado Mines next Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Stocker Stadium.
