The Rock Canyon Jaguars and Horizon Hawks finished with an undefeated 3-0 record after winning in the final day of the 2018 Bill Fanning Memorial Classic.
The Jaguars, led by the arm of Ty Smith, held on for a 4-1 win over the Grand Junction Tigers. Justin Petterle drove in an RBI for Rock Canyon in the victory. With the loss, Grand Junction falls to 0-3 on the season.
Palisade and Horizon combined for 43 runs in the Saturday morning marathon. Horizon's Braxton Antonelli helped lead the Hawks to a 29-14 win. Horizon scored 5 runs in the sixth inning and nine runs in the seventh.
Fruita Monument cruised to a 13-0 win in five innings against the Rampart Rams in the Classic's finale. Wildcats pitcher Zach Rush threw a 1-hitter in the win.
