Fruita Monument junior Trey Morrill was named the 2017 Southwestern League Player of the Year headlining this year's all-conference selections.
Morrill led the league with a 2.13 ERA and batted .368 on the year. His coach, Ray McLennan, is the Coach of the Year as he led the Wildcats to a 13-7 overall and 6-2 in the league record, and their third straight league title. The Wildcats lead the all-conference team with six total selections.
In addition to Morril, sophomore Zach Rush was named to the first team.
Of the Grand junction Tigers, senior Andrew Hansen, senior Jax Nourse, and sophomore Derek Shaver were named to the first team. Hansen led the league with a .608 on base percentage.
Central Warriors on the first team included senior Hunter Kelchner and sophomore Ryan Kirby. Kelchner lead the SWL with a .525 batting average and a .796 slugging percentage.
Jayden Lopez and Jared Miller made the first team from Montrose.
The Wildcats had four players named to the second team that included Tyler Boggs, Gavin Brown, Cade Oxford, and Tyler Tuell.
Grand Junction's Shawn Garcia and Sergio Moreno were named to the second team.
Central's Cade Balleweg, Caleb Dwyer, and Koby Steves earned second team nods, as well.
Dustin Boone, who lead the SWL with 28 RBI's, was selected to the second team from Montrose.
