GJ Rockies' Manager Moving Up

Rockies release staff changes for 2018 season

Grand Junction Rockies manager, Frank Gonzales, is moving up the ranks of the organization.

The former skipper is headed to Advanced-A Lancaster where he'll be the new supervisor of development.  Rockies' hitting coach, Lee Stevens, is also on the move.  He's headed to AA Hartford where he'll remain as a hitting coach for the Yard Goats.

Jake Optiz was named the new hitting coach of the rookie-level Rockies. He was a coach in Hartford last season.  Doug Jones returns as pitching coach in his fourth year with the organization.  Andy Gonzales stays in Grand Junction as the supervisor of development.  Last season marked his first season in Grand Junction.  Prior to that, he served as the Boise Hawks hitting coach in 2015 and manager in 2016.

A new manager has yet to be named in Grand Junction.
