Grand Junction Dominates at Jackpot Duals

Grand Junction's 159 points earn top finish; Central comes in second with 99

The Grand Junction Tigers dominated the Jackpot Dual Wednesday as they welcomed all Grand Valley high schools to their gym for the annual event.

Grand Junction won with 159 points followed by Central's 99.  Palisade and Fruita Monument finished with 72 and 71 respectively.

At 106's, Dawson Collins of Grand Junction defeated Central's Jacob McClaskey.

At 132's, Grand Juction's Dylan Martinez defeated Central's Andrew Bench in major decision.

At 138's, Fruita Monument's Daniel Van Hoose dropped a weight class from when he wrestled in 145's at the Warrior Challenge in mid December.  In the lower weight class, he defeated Central's Riley Garner-Orr, 3-1, with a takedown with just under 10 seconds left in the third period.

At 145's, Grand Junction Josiah Rider defeated Palisade Austin Bernal in major decision, 18-6.

At 170 lbs., Seth Latham of Grand Junction defeated Central's EJ Barrera in minor decision, 3-2.

At 220's, Grand Junction's Shawn Garcia pinned Palisade's Wesley Buford in in the first period.

At 182's, Terrence Williams defeated Grand Junction's Hunter Tobiasson in minor decision.
