Grand Junction High School baseball split a doubleheader with Durango on Saturday at Suplizio Field.
Durango won the first game 5-4. Senior Tyler Ruetschle hit a go-ahead single in the top of the sixth and the Demons held on for the one-run win.
Grand Junction won game two 6-5. Jax Nourse hit a three-run home run in the top of the first inning to give the Tigers an early lead. The Demons scored four in the bottom of the fifth to go up 5-4. Two Tiger runs in the top of the sixth would be enough for the Tigers to win 6-5.
Saturday's doubleheader concludes the regular season for both teams. The 5A baseball playoff brackets will be released on Wednesday May 10th.
