Day five of the Junior College World Series featured the tournament's sixth elimination game narrowing down the field of play to just four teams.
In game one of the day, the McLennan Highlanders took on the Chipola Indians in a do or die situation. The Highlanders got out an early 3-0 lead after one and a half innings, but the Indians answered back with a five spot in the bottom of the second. Chipola lead 15-7 in the seventh, just an out away from a run rule victory, but Highlanders Josh Breaux hit a two run home run to keep McLennan's hopes alive. The Highlanders would cut the lead to four in the eighth inning, but Chipola was relentless at the plate winning with a two out walk-off grand slam to claim the 19-11 run rule victory.
Game two of the day featured the only remaining undefeated teams of the tournament as the Wabash Valley Warriors took on the San Jacinto Gators. The Warriors drew first blood, scoring in the top of the first inning and would take a 2-1 lead after two innings, but they would not lead again after that. The Gators threw four shut out innings and won 12-5.
