Kyle Leahy and McKenzie Surface earned the honor of 2017 RMAC Academic Player of the Year for baseball and softball, respectively.
Leahy holds a 4.00 GPA in Kinesiology all while holding down an RMAC best .90 ERA on the mound. Leahy won eight games recording 55 strikeouts in 60 innings pitched.
Surface holds a 3.90 GPA as a Psychology major. She leads the RMAC in ERA at 2.00, as well as strikeouts with 134.
Juniors Brooke Hodgson and Kaila Jacobi also joined Surface on the All-Academic First Team majoring in exercise science. Six other Mavs made the all academic honor roll.
On the baseball side, Senior PJ Gonzalez and Sophomore Bligh Madris both majoring in Kinesiology, and senior Kyle Serrano with a 3.97 in business joined Leahy on the first team. Seven others made the honor roll.
