Palisade Girls' Basketball Prepares for Senior Night

The Palisade girls' basketball team needs some help in order to have a chance at winning their third Western Slope League title in a row.

The Bulldogs need a loss by Rifle on Thursday in addition to a Bulldog win on Friday against Battle Mountain. Palisade trails Rifle by one game in the league. Added to the importance of the Bulldog's game on Friday, it's senior night for nine girls. Friday's game will be special for many reasons but the Bulldogs aren't planning to play anything but Bulldog basketball.

"I think we just have to focus on what we can take care of," said head coach Danielle Bagwell. "Battle Mountain is a pretty tough team. Their point guard shoots really well outside and we have to take care of that. And just worry about the things we can take care of on the court."

"We're not really focused so much on a league championship," said senior forward Emma Haas. "Just on getting it done on Friday and getting ready for the postseason. So we're more focused on playoffs at this point."

With just one regular season game left, Palisade sits at 15 in the 4A girls. The Bulldogs are four spots behind WSL leader Rifle, but are still headed to the playoffs regardless of their result Friday.
