Twice as Nice: CMU Baseball Walks-Off Both Doubleheader Games

The 8th ranked Colorado Mesa baseball team used late-game heroics, winning both doubleheader games against the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs on a walk-off.

In the first game, CMU pinch hitter Josh Shapario hit a single to center field in the 11th inning, scoring Caleb Farmer and giving Mesa a 7-6 win. Farmer scored two runs total in the game, adding a solo home run in the 6th.

The Mountain Lions outhit the Mavericks in game 2, but couldn't break through starting pitcher Chris Ramirez. Ramirez tallied seven strikeouts and two walks in his five innings of work.

Jordan Stubbings knocked in the game-winner with an RBI double in the bottom of the 9th.

Colorado Mesa moves to 14-5 on the season. They'll wrap up the season against UCCS on noon Sunday at Suplizio Field.
