Austin Sack

Austin Sack anchors FOX 4 at 6:30 p.m. and has reported for KREX 5 since June of 2021.  

Sack is a third-generation Colorado native, born in Littleton. He attended the University of Northern Colorado and double majored in Journalism and Communication Studies.  

The Western Slope is where he began his journalism career and he is the first on the scene to cover breaking news, local government, the economy, and severe weather for the network.  

During Mesa County’s November 2021 Election, Sack was the lead reporter covering the alleged election fraud and multiple criminal investigations into Clerk Tina Peters possible involvement.  

He has been the first on the Western Slope to report on the growing concern of fentanyl poisonings in Grand Junction and the Drug Enforcement Agency’s response.  

Sack also hosted the Hispanic Heritage Month special in September of 2021 on KREX.   

When he’s not at the desk, Sack spends his time venturing at the Colorado National Monument and attending live music concerts at Mesa Theatre, Red Rocks Amphitheater and he takes any chance to head over the mountains to Denver.
