DENVER (AP) — A major meatpacking plant in Colorado that was closed because of the coronavirus is set to reopen Friday.
The facility was disinfected over the last two weeks. The JBS USA plant in Greeley was closed April 11 after health officials cited the close proximity of workers to each other and employees working while they were sick as factors in the outbreak.
At least four workers have died and at least 102 have tested positive. Health officials will be onsite to test workers who show symptoms. Workers also must wear face masks and practice social distancing, although some say that will be difficult because of the way plants are laid out.
