GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The Mesa County Sheriff’s Office officially upgraded their Clifton Substation this Thursday morning, following a ceremonial ribbon cutting.
The new branch is 3,568 square feet and will be the new home for the MCSO Law Operations Division. The new location was chosen to put deputies closer to the action in Mesa County, providing them with a shorter commute time for responding to calls.
You add in 30 minutes a day, or 30 minutes a trip for multiple trips, and you’re taking a lot of time away from servicing the community we serve.
Eric Sperber, Captain, MCSO
The Clifton substation started out as a one-room office with just one computer. The office later moved to an old cabin, and then a small space in a shopping center, before finally moving into this new building.
