GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Get ready for a dazzling Saturday night in Grand Junction. 100 floats are set to illuminate Main Street at 5 p.m. for the 40th annual Parade of Lights.

This year’s theme is ‘There’s no Place Like Home.’ Movie aficionados will recognize this as a quote from Dorothy in the famous 1939 film “The Wizard of Oz.” Viewers can certainly predict to see some Oz-themed floats, but should not expect all to be themed as such.

The title has been used in plenty of other books, films, television shows and songs. John Legend’s popular 2018 Christmas album, “A Legendary Christmas,” features a song titled “No Place Like Home.”

Parking is available on the surrounding side streets and in the parking garage at 4th and Rood.

Parking will be closed on Main Street beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Any cars parked along the parade route will be towed away to a nearby parking lot. Owners will be able to retrieve their vehicles from this lot free of charge.

The event is scheduled to run from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. More information regarding the event can be found here.
