Rocky Mountain Wild Will Unveil Maps Showing New Areas Protected by COGCC Rules

Colorado News

REMOTE — Rocky Mountain Wild has developed Colorado maps that contrast wildlife and water areas that will be protected by new rules that take effect on Friday. Using slide maps, you will be able to see and compare the new rules with previously protected areas.

The Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) and its staff worked hundreds of hours and listened to Coloradans from across the state to forge the best path forward to better balance the protection of fish and wildlife and our communities with oil and gas development. They recognized that how wildlife moves and migrates in our state is critical to protect our economy and our Colorado way of life.

Rocky Mountain Wild has developed the maps as a resource to better see what has changed in our state. The maps and website will be unveiled Thursday, January 14 at 1:30pm. Please RSVP for call-in information and link to maps (will send prior to call).
