WASHINGTON. — President Trump signed into law Colorado Senator Cory Gardner’s Great American Outdoors Act.
The bill spends 900 million dollars every year on land and water conservation.
The law allows Americans can enjoy more outdoor recreational activities across the nation’s treasured places. It also funds billions in maintenance projects for national parks, forests, and wildlife sanctuaries.
Senator Gardner’s legislation was introduced in March and since then has earned strong bipartisan support. He spoke to KREX 5’s Adrian Thomas from Washington via Zoom to share his thoughts on the environmental impact of this legislation, and how this could factor into his reelection campaign. The full interview can be viewed above.
“This is a really historic moment for Colorado. I think you can’t look at it through the terms of politics, that’s not what this is about… it’s about making sure we have an environment that’s better tomorrow than it is today. Republicans, Democrats came together not because of politics, but because of good policy that represents one of the greatest ideas this country has ever had, and that is our public lands.” – Colorado Senator Cory Gardner
Senator Gardner says The Great American Outdoors Act will boost Colorado’s economy and create thousands of jobs.
