GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Music lovers across the Grand Valley, prepare yourself for three days filled with the sounds of percussion, brass, woodwinds, and more as District 51 and Colorado Mesa University (CMU) will host the 97th annual Colorado West Invitational Music Performance Festival.
The event will begin at 8 a.m. and run all day throughout April 21 and 22, and will take place at five local locations. Central and Grand Junction high schools will host band events, Palisade High School is where you’ll find the orchestra events, and both the CMU Recital Hall and CMU Ensemble Room will house the vocal events. Central High School will also be the home of the jazz band performances on Saturday, April 23 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Middle and high school orchestras, choirs, bands and jazz performers from across the state, and some from as far as Idaho, will be showcasing their talents at this year’s festival.
