Physical education prepares kids to be physically and mentally active, fit, and healthy for life.
PE teacher, Paul Beller, at Johnson Elementary School has earned the admiration of his students with his high energy levels, positive attitude, and commitment to making physical education fun.
Mr. Beller teaches kids the value of physical activity now to help them establish healthier lifestyles as adults. When asked about the importance of fitness, Beller said “just letting kids know you have one body and you live in it, so take care of it and recognize that hard work is something that’s gonna pay off.“
One thing there’s no shortage of in Mr. Beller’s class, is fun! He ’s always working to come up with creative ways to get kids moving. “Just being creative, especially when it comes to fitness. We have our miles for smiles program where we’re closing in on almost 3,000 miles with the kids as a whole.”
Mr. Beller’s nominator tells us that both his students and his peers look to him for energy and excitement. Johnson Elementary School Principal, Oscar Cervantes agreed. “Mr. Beller’s attitude is infectious. It really is. He gets people pumped up. Kids look to him to bring their level up.”
Thank you Mr. Beller for showing kids that physical fitness is both rewarding, and fun.
