GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — The simulator’s presence at the Cesar Chavez celebration is to point out fire safety issues with attendees with this glimpse of firefighter training. While people won’t be able to go through, coordinators assure it will still be a sight to see because a lot more flames will blaze when the back drop-down door opens.

The responders involved find having this presence to be parallel to Cesar’s work: bringing awareness to what really matters.

“Particularly in this environment, I think it’s important to honor diversity equity and that includes Cesar Chavez who was a true warrior,” PDF Consulting’s Shawn Davis reflects, “I actually got to work with his cofounder Dolores Huerta she’s a trailblazer. There’s a lot of trailblazers in Grand Junction.”

The mobile training semi will be present throughout the entire celebration; along with a brush fire truck, a Colorado Bureau of Investigation mobile lab truck, and another firefighting command truck.

Everyone is invited to see the many vehicles used to keep people protected, on behalf on the Colorado Department of Public Safety.
