Mesa Mall Celebrates Women’s History Month with Pop-Up Event

Local Events

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo.– Mesa Mall announced earlier this week via social media
that the town center will celebrate Women’s History Month for the community by hosting an event honoring women in the Grand Valley and throughout society. Local artist Lori Ruiz will be at the celebration completing a live painting to represent the month-long observance and local macaron bakery E.A.T. Macs will be at the event as well, selling a variety of flavors of their tasty, homemade treats. This event will take place in Clock Court on Wednesday, March 3 from 1-4 P.M.

Local artist Lori Ruiz is also extending her hand during this time to a local charity, The Latimer House. During the event, attendees and shoppers passing by will have the opportunity to make a digital donation to the cause for a chance to win the painting. The Latimer House of Hilltop ‘assists those who have experienced domestic violence or sexual assault’ and provides resources and services to those in need.

Followers of @shopmesamall on Facebook or Instagram are in for a special treat. The first twenty in line at E.A.T. Mac’s pop-up who mention the post containing the giveaway will receive a free macaron, courtesy of Mesa Mall.

“ Mesa Mall is excited to provide a community event to celebrate the accomplishments that women
have made socially, culturally, politically, and so much more. This celebration of local creatives is not
only important to recognize these women for their achievements in their individual crafts, but to also stand by them to raise awareness for equality for all women” said Paul Petersen, General Manager of Mesa Mall. “We are passionate about serving as a gathering space for our community, and now more than ever, we are proud to be a place where families, friends, and the community can safely connect with each other in unique ways.”

Mesa Mall remains focused on providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. In response to the continued need to address COVID-19, the Center has proactively implemented additions to the Code of Conduct, effective until further notice. These additions include the following guidelines:

• Practice social distancing and stay at least 6 feet (2 meters) from other people.
• Covering your mouth and nose with a cloth face cover in accordance with state and local
guidelines.
• Do not gather in groups.
• Adhere to each individual tenant’s COVID-19 policies.
• Adhere to all federal, state and local regulations, recommendations and mandates regarding
COVID-19.

In addition, Mesa Mall’s already rigorous disinfectant and cleaning practices will continue, many times per day, including periodically disinfecting areas most susceptible to the spread of germs. Alcohol-based hand sanitizer dispensers are located in highly-trafficked areas and walkways for public use.

Mesa Mall remains committed to supporting the local Grand Junction community through providing
unique experiences year-round. The safety of guests and tenants alike remains the town center’s top
focus, and a drive-thru Candy Crawl is just one example of Mesa Mall’s ongoing efforts to maintain its role as a community lifestyle center no matter the circumstances.
