GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — Colorado State Troopers seized a large amount of cocaine in Grand Junction this Monday.
CSP troopers pulled over a Chrysler minivan at around 3:30 a.m. on Interstate 70 near milepost 27. Law enforcement was suspicious of criminal activity and asked for content to search the vehicle. The driver denied it, and the trooper obtained a search warrant for the vehicle.
The search yielded a significant amount of drugs hidden in suitcases, weighing around 290 pounds.
Law enforcement then arrested 28-year-old Tyleke Stokley from North Carolina and 55-year-old Darvin Campbell from Alabama and remanded them to the Mesa County Detention Facility. The two men are facing several charges including:
- Possession with intent to distribute more than 112 grams of cocaine
- Drug felony one charge
- Special offender – transporting more than seven grams of cocaine into the State of Colorado.
