GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — A man is in custody following an early morning shooting in Grand Junction.

At around 2:15 a.m. this morning, Grand Junction Police Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 2800 block of North Avenue in Grand Junction. Initial reports indicated a man was walking back and forth and shooting a handgun in the air.

Officers arrested 32-year-old Mark Gonzales without further incident on the following charges:

  • Menacing
  • Possession of a weapon by a previous offender
  • Reckless endangerment
  • Prohibited use of a weapon

The GJPD believes this to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the community. No further information is available at this time.
