GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — A shooting this week led to the arrest of three individuals accused of stealing a motorcycle.
On Tuesday morning, Mesa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of an auto theft in the 3000 block of Mohawk Avenue. A witness reportedly saw three people load his neighbor’s motorcycle into the bed of a pickup truck and drive away. The victim quickly chased after his stolen motorcycle, but discontinued his pursuit after one of the thieves shot a gun at him, per official reports.
The victim gave a detailed description of the truck and license plate the thieves used to transport the motorcycle. Deputies used this information to determine the vehicle was registered in Delta, Colorado.
MCSO investigators and SWAT team members in coordination with the Delta Police Department executed a search warrant on a residence on Riley Lane and recovered the motorcycle. Three suspects were arrested in relation to the incident:
- Jose Ortega
- Humberto Cano-Hernandez
- Kevin Espinoza
