GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KREX) — A standoff occurred in Fruita on Sunday after police responded to a report of a man threatening others with a firearm.

The suspect secured himself in a house on East Carolina Avenue while police sent a reverse 911 call to residents in the area, advising them to shelter in place.

Grand Junction Police officers and Mesa County Sheriff Deputies arrived with the SWAT Team and surrounded the house.

36-year-old Clinton Haddon was arrested after a standoff that lasted a few hours. Officers booked him in the Mesa County Detention Facility and charged him with 6 counts of felony menacing, possession of a weapon by a previous offender, prohibited use of a weapon, child abuse and reckless endangerment.

According to The Fruita Police Department, nobody was injured as a result of the incident.
